The Board of Trustees of the University City Public Library is seeking a forward-thinking and collaborative leader to serve as its next Library Director. 

This key executive position reports to the Board of Trustees and carries responsibility for the overall strategic direction and operational excellence of the library. The Director will lead all aspects of the organization, including collections, programming, public services, staff development, facilities stewardship, and community outreach, building on the momentum of the library’s recent comprehensive facility renovation and renewed investment in patron experience.

The Library Director will serve as the primary ambassador and public face of the institution, fostering strong relationships with the Board, staff, patrons, and community partners. By actively engaging with civic leaders, local organizations, and the broader library profession, the Director will enhance the library’s visibility and strengthen its role as a vibrant, welcoming hub for lifelong learning, cultural enrichment, and community connection in University City and the greater St. Louis region.
