We're excited to announce that Organizational Architecture has been invited to present at the Ohio Library Council’s HR 201 Hybrid Workshop. This full-day event on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 gives library leaders and managers practical guidance on the essential human resources topics shaping libraries today.
The workshop is hybrid...attend in person at the OLC office in Dublin or join online with full access to content. It will be recorded, and handouts plus the recording stay available for 30 days. In-person attendees enjoy morning coffee, light refreshments, and lunch. The program also provides six hours of continuing education credit toward Ohio Public Librarian or Library Staff re-certification.
Mark Fiala, President of Organizational Architecture, will lead the 1:00 p.m. session Strategic HR for Library Leaders. Drawing on nearly 30 years of strategic HR leadership, Mark will focus on five high-impact areas critical to library success:
- Workforce planning and staffing strategies
- Succession planning and leadership development
- Change management
- Coaching versus discipline
- Developing employee growth plans
These topics sit at the core of building resilient teams. In an era of tight budgets, shifting community needs, and multi-generational workforces, strategic HR is essential. Mark will share practical frameworks that help leaders move from reactive problem-solving to proactive talent management—so libraries can attract, develop, and retain the people who deliver outstanding service.
OA is proud to partner with Ohio’s public libraries. We have supported them with compensation design, job descriptions that embed core values and competencies, executive searches, performance systems, and succession planning.
Join us for a day that strengthens your leadership toolkit and your library’s future. Facing workforce planning, succession, coaching, or change challenges?
